Macau has closed its 41 casinos for the next 14 days. To close so many casinos for such a long time is unprecedented. The move will cost many millions of dollars of lost revenue in Macau – and will no doubt have flow on effects for the population and area.

This level of wide spread casino closure is not something I’ve ever seen happen before. I believe many of the Macau to Hong Kong borders are also closed – at least intermittently.

My love and best wishes go to those people living in Macau, who I found to be very gracious when I was there. Hopefully these casinos don’t need to stay closed for long.
