Las Vegas Pinball Hall of Fame
On this trip I was finally able to to visit the Pinball Hall of Fame. Run by a team of enthusiasts, and with all proceeds being gifted to the Salvation Army, the Pinball Hall of Fame has several hundred coin operated pinball machines, from a variety of decades, lovingly restored.
A lot of my friends think that Las Vegas Nevada is only about casinos, gambling, and sin. Part of that might be true – but there’s so much more to Las Vegas than the average person thinks about. Not only have you got some amazing natural scenery nearby, near perfect weather, and great shopping, but you’ve also got a wealth of activities and places to visit that are unique to the area. Simply put, you just won’t find some of these great entertainment options anywhere else in America.
You can play the games with quarters, and relive the golden age of pinball. I’ve never personally seen so many pinball machines in one place – and certainly I’ve never seen such an amazing range of manufacturers, titles, and years of manufacture. This was well worth the trip down Tropicana Avenue in an Uber.
It’s always fun in the casinos, but I also enjoyed taking a break from the slot machines for a few hours to stop here at the Pinball Hall of Fame and bang some balls around the layouts. It took me back to my youth – before I was old enough to gamble. And it cost me maybe $10 or $20 for 2-3 hours of fun, which I thought was very affordable. Knowing that my quarters were ultimately donations to the Salvation Army made the exercise enjoy more enjoyable, and I left with that “feel good factor”.
Alongside the pinball machines are a variety of other arcade games including a helicopter lander, a sex tester, a Zoltan machine, and others. There’s truly something for everyone – and it’s family friendly. Have a look at the photos below that I took at the Las Vegas Pinball Hall of Fame, and see for yourself! A recommended excursion, day or night, for a few hours when you’re next in Las Vegas.
