Beginning Sunday, March 15 all MGM Resorts buffet locations in Las Vegas will be closed until further notice. The impacted locations include Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Bellagio, Aria, Mirage, And MGM Grand. 

Additionally, Mandalay Bay has announced temporary closures to the following outlets: Mizuya, Fleur, and Aureole.

The press release does not mention specifics on why the buffets are closed. It is likely that the buffets / casinos are quieter at present, making them uneconomic to provide. Hopefully things will return to normal soon!

The Las Vegas buffet is one of the reasons I love going to Las Vegas. Hopefully this buffet temporary closure does not become a long term event. I can’t imagine 2 weeks in Vegas living off fast food…
