How To Break Even In Las Vegas
Give yourself the best chance to walk away a winner in the casinos - stay in control.
If you’re thinking about a Vegas Holiday you’re probably thinking about casinos. Most individuals who have ever gambled have no dreams of striking it rich when going and playing in casinos. Most of us know the greatest goal is to go in, play a while, have some fun, get some comps, and go home with about what you walked in with. Although our regular How to Beat the Casinos readers may well disagree with that!

Many who gamble on a regular basis know to simply bring in a specific sum of money and to not blend betting money with money that is earmarked for other matters. There are a couple of things that new casino players can do in order to avoid spending more than you intended. Anyone who has spent much time in a casino will tell you it’s easy to get your money mixed up and wind up spending every dime you walked in wit, wishing you’d hidden your money elsewhere.
That being said there is a deep difference between a casual gambler and someone that is willing and expecting to come in and make a significant investment in the casino. These investments sometimes pay off big time for those who can afford to lose the money. Additionally they can wind up costing them big time and taking a while to recuperate. I recommend beginning light – don’t go too fast, or too big on your bets. Hopefully these hints will allow you to go home with a little more money in your pocket.
1) Lock all other ATM, Debit, and credit cards in your room safe along with any other cash that you have. This prevents the temptation to get one more twenty or fifty dollar note out of your wallet until they are all gone. This seems like a bit of overkill and folks often think they have plenty of self control when playing… but there is something about playing in a casino. Some people sadly lose every bit of common sense when they walk in the door.
2) Set a time limit for your casino pleasure and when that time limit is up for the evening / day get up from the table and leave the casino – whether you are on the hottest winning streak of your life or not. Leaving at a set time prevents you from getting over tired and making poor betting choices based on the altered state of being sleep deprived.
3) Win and lose graciously. You will earn more respect from staff and other casino players when you are gracious. In Vegas you can never have too much good luck – so why keep negative energy in your life?
Enjoy your time in any casino, land based or online. Consider the above thoughts as useful information to ensure that your gambling remains “in balance” – giving you the best chance to walk away a winner.
