I’m a vip player at the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and I love it. It’s a small casino by Las Vegas standards, but it has a big heart and an excellent team of people who make staying and playing there awesome! I stay for 4 or 5 nights at a time, which feels about right, and gives me a chance to use all of the facilities on offer.

I’m always given a nice room, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. They include a white noise generator by the bed in some rooms – and I slept like a baby with this on in the background. It was so good I bought one for home when I returned after my holiday. The rooms are clean and bright.

The hotel facilities are good. There’s a really nice pool area open in the summer, there’s a small (2-3 machines) exercise room open year round, and the restaurant food at Freedom Beat was very good and inexpensive if you use your players card to get discounts on the “Gamblers Beat Specials”. They also have happy hour food pricing each day – quite a bargain!

I had no problems getting free drinks on the main slot floor. There’s a good variety of slot machines, and also table games – including blackjack that pays 3-2 odds, even at $5 level. So this casino provides good payback to customers – and on my last trip I spent only a couple of hundred dollars all up for a 5 day stay (and my room was free – so basically a push)!
