Can You Predict Online Blackjack Shuffles?
Online casino blackjack software uses pseudo-random generated numbers to shuffle cards. Computers can never be truly random, as they make decisions based on past estimations or on certain triggers. There are millions of possible RNG (random number generator) combinations that can be picked by a computer, but as one shuffle is likely based on the last pseudo-random shuffle the computer software did, some people believe that you can predict the next blackjack outcomes (and somehow find an edge).
I don’t personally believe this is practical – even if theoretically possible – given the millions of hands that can be dealt, and the face that most casinos shuffle their online decks after every hand. But there were recent newspaper reports where an organised gang was using sequence based predictions to work out the exact best time to hit the spin button on some older slot machines to trigger higher payout wins… so if it’s possible to manipulate old slot machines, then online blackjack *might* be possible too. In the slot machine example, the programmers worked out the slot machines main clock timing, and worked out from that the shuffle-RNG seed used. They then worked out the order in which slot combinations would fall, and for the few who had this information, the short term winnings were huge.
If this could be applied to online blackjack software then you would know whether to hit or stick on t he cards you have based upon forward evaluation of the card order. This is a HUGE potential advantage.
Whilst some of these types of programs are available online, they’re certainly not free. I would suggest that their performance is likely very unpredictable, and that there are also a few scams out there. Personally, I’m very dubious that RNG shuffle tracking with any precision is possible, and I would only look to purchase any system after I’d had a reasonable free trial of them and have seen success.
