Blackjack is a Top 10 casino game. It takes good study to play it well, but it’s a lot of fun – and you can potentially win a lot of money. The game aim is simple: beat the casino dealer’s hand – whether you’re planning one on one or there are other players at the blackjack table.

Every card in blackjack has a value. Cards numbered 10 and below are equivalent to the number on the card. All the front side cards, for example Queens, Kings, and Jacks have a worth of 10. These cards are highly valuable in blackjack. An Ace is the highest card value in the deck and it is very powerful – it can be worth either 1 or 11, and you can decide on how this best helps your hand at any time.

Blackjack players benefit from learning Basic Strategy. You should make sure your blackjack hands never exceed 21. If you can get the dealer to repeatedly bust and go over 21, you’ll win money! When playing blackjack, check out the number of betting boxes available, and look at the signs at each table (whether land based or online) which state the table wagering limits and payouts.

When you’re ready to play Blackjack, find a blackjack table, get your chips, and place your wagers in your betting circle. You will get 2 cards dealt face up, whilst the dealer will normally get 1 card face up and 1 card face down (this does depend on the blackjack game derivative). Use basic strategy to then make decisions on how to play your hand. You can Hit (taking an additional card), stand (taking no more cards), double down (multiplying your wager with only one more card dealt) and Split (multiplying your wager and having each of your starting cards in two separate hands).

Some blackjack games (but not all) will also let you “surrender” (relinquishing 50% of your wager and surrendering your hand) – this is only advised when you have a hard 15 or hard 16 in the long term.

Try to profit from every single blackjack session you play – that’s harder than it sounds, but is a worthwhile goal to have. I’ve done well at casino blackjack over the years – it has a much lower house edge than other casino games, and it’s amazingly fun to play when the cards are flowing in your favour.
