During my recent trip to Las Vegas, I visited the El Cortez casino in downtown Las Vegas. I played a good variety of slot machines here, and I also had dinner at Siegel’s restaurant. I’d eaten at Siegel’s many times before on previous trips, but on this trip the food was way below par.

The fried chicken I ordered was dry and flavourless, and has almost put me off eating there for life. Very sad, because I always love the food – and I’ve been going to Las Vegas and eating at Siegel’s restaurant at the El Cortez for over 20 years.

In any case, the meal was technically free after I hit a small jackpot (well free games feature) on the Rich Little Piggies slot machine whilst there. It didn’t change the bad taste of the meal, but it did mean that I left the casino feeling I got what I paid for… literally. If the jackpot gives enough cash to cover the meal at any casino then I’m happy. Free games, free food, free time – I can’t complain if / when that happens.

I really enjoyed playing the Rich Little Piggies slot machine. The feature lasted quite a few minutes and was fun to play. Lots of flashing lights and images, with good payouts. The feature was about a 100x payout in the end, obviously subject to normal slot machine variances.
